How Very Subtle

If you live in an affluent red-to-pink state like North Carolina, you may have seen the very tasteful W The President stickers on the back of SUVs around town. It turns out they have nothing to do with advertising a hotel chain. Inspired, Jen made one for Kerry supporters, because, well, you know, Kerry's middle name is Forbes. Plus, F the President.

Apparently she wasn't the only one who had this idea. Turns out there's a CafePress store and another Web site selling the same thing. And the people who make them have written up a press release so that you think it has caused some controversy:

Official endorsements have not yet been sought for the product line, but the team behind F The President believes that everyone who chooses to adorn their vehicle, desk, or shirt with this logo merchandise will have their own motivation for displaying the logo. These products are sure to be conversation starters.

I won't be putting one on my car. It's a good way to get keyed around here.

"eff the pres'dent? whuts that mean? are they sayin'... are they... HEEEEY! i'm a' gonna key the hell outta that guy's car! puttin' vulgarites up like that! he should be ashamed a' hisself!"
i saw a car in the mall parking lot with an anti-bush sticker on it; not a big one, just a little one. someone spraypainted "fuck you commie" on it with black spraypaint. on a light green car. subtle, eh? i bet that was fun to take into the body shop.
