Chris Stamey
Monday, October 25, 2004 at 6:33PM I was disappointed that I couldn't see Chris Stamey at The Evening Muse on Friday, but the band I'm playing with had a show at The Wild Magnolia in Greensboro (a great place with a house B3!).
Anyway, we used to go see Chris Stamey when we lived in Chapel Hill. It was right around the time that the great Mavericks CD with Peter Holsapple was out. We even let him hear a copy of some early honeyfly recordings and he liked them.
Somebody permanently borrowed my copy of Mavericks and I hadn't thought too much about him until I heard he was coming around and had a new album out. Now I'm remembering how much his jangle-pop style was - is - right up my alley.
