I Hate The Gym
Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 5:59PM I joined a gym a few months ago. I'm glad I did it, but oh my God I hate going. I know it's helping and I do feel better. While I'm not fat, I am certainly not in shape and I am stridently, radiantly lazy. The gym is quite convenient to my house, and my work has a deal with this gym, so it's economical as well. There are branches of this gym in both Rock Hill and Charlotte, so there's always one close by! Great!
When I first joined, I would psyche myself up to go and drive to the gym after work. Then Jen said, "You're driving to the gym? We can see it from our house!" She had a point, so now I walk to the gym, then walk/jog/occasionally run while I'm there, then walk back.
I know I need to start lifting weights at the gym, and I will. On Saturdays. When it's not full of meat-heads. What is with those people? I am averaging twice a week and a Saturday here and there. Right now, it's the best I can do. I have co-workers who go to the gym at lunch. That's an option for me, but if I did that, I wouldn't be able to eat junk food at lunch, which would lead me to have no reason to go to the gym at all.
