I DO Love the 90's
Sunday, July 18, 2004 at 5:23PM Another weekend full of exciting things like VH1 running an "I Love the 90's" marathon and Comedy Central showing more "South Park"s than even I can watch.
Like a lot of people, I thought "I Love the 80's" was pretty fun and "I Love the 70's" a bit of stretch (I was indeed around for most of the 70's but remember almost nothing), and was not looking forward to "I Love the 90's" because it seemed like an excerise in nostalgia for something that just happened. "Remember 1999? That was greeaaat."
Of course, that's better than being nostalgic about something that features nostalgia. "Remember in the 90's when Austin Powers came out and we were all talking about the 60's?"
But once I saw four hours worth of ex "Daily Show" correspondents (well, what else are they going to do?) and Michael Ian Black going off, everything was fine. Well done VH1. Get to work on "I Love the Aughts" already so I can start being nostalgic for next year.
