North Carolina in play? South Carolina in play? This is heady stuff. I am a lot more excited about the campaign than I was before. OK, I wasn't excited at all before.
One of the knocks that I've heard about Edwards locally is that he's been running for president since before he won his Senate seat and never really had North Carolina's interests at heart. There may be some merit to that characterization, but face it - the guy has CHARAZMA. If Kerry's choice had gone any other way, I would have been let down, and I don't think that has anything to do with pulling for the local guy.
Maybe it's just a post-veep high, but it really does seem like the dynamics of this thing are swinging away from the Dark Side. This could really happen, couldn't it?
By the way, Spider-Man 2 is really, really good.

kerry would have been totally doomed if he'd picked anyone else. he just proved to all of us that we know he's a corpse and he knows he's a corpse, so he's going to have someone who's better looking and more charismatic say the same things he's been saying and see how many more people pay attention. and you know what? if edwards helps get bush out of office, he's got north carolina's, and the rest of the country's best interests at heart. i'm not kidding, i don't like that guy a lot.
