Stupid N.O. Saints

I just got back from the Panthers game, where I saw the New Orleans Saints put an end to the fantastic comeback season the Panthers were having, 21-18. For a few minutes in the fourth quarter, after a good drive and a successful two-point conversion, it looked like the Panthers might come back, but the Saints blocked what would have been an unlikely 60-yard field goal to put the game into overtime. Jake had a rough first half, but managed to put it together in the last part of the game, and the stadium was as rockin' as I've heard it in awhile.
Despite the seven-game losing streak in the first half of the season, it's been a great one, and I'm happy for what the Panthers were almost able to do. Sure it's sad to not make the playoffs after last year's Super Bowl run, but we knocked the Saints out of the playoff race two years ago and now they are getting us back. At least they still have the Hornets.
Expectations will be high for next year, with Steve Smith and DeShaun Foster returning from injured reserve to augment the guys like Nick Goings who stepped it up in their absence this year.
Joe Horn and Aaron Brooks can talk all the junk they want. They aren't going to the playoffs either, and the Panthers will always be the better team.
