Welcome Queen City Indie

I've bitched enough about having to drive to The Orange Peel in Asheville to see great bands. For a city the size of Charlotte, it sucks to have to head to a smaller town two hours away. Well, I'm not the only local who's been pissed about this situation.

Creative Loafing recently ran a profile of Queen City Indie, a new independent booking agency that in their short existence has already improved the the number and quality of national indie bands stopping in Charlotte. They've already welcomed Fruit Bats (download "A Bit Of Wind"), Rogue Wave (download tunes or check their excellent site), and Athens' super-poppy Of Montreal (download "Disconnect The Dots").

A strong indie scene will lead to stronger local bands. Welcome Queen City Indie. You're doing a great job so far!
