RTFM
Sunday, February 13, 2005 at 5:27PM Korg has posted two sets of downloadable programs for the Triton Extreme:
- Eric Hailstone's patches, heavy on guitars
- Studio Soundbox Sound Collection, with saws and acoustic instruments, which is more to my taste
It's pretty great that they do this, but the four byzantine manuals that come with the Triton Extreme don't make it easy to figure out how to load data from a PC to the Extreme. Once you connect a USB cable to the Extreme, put it into USB mode (from the Media mode menu. Keep hunting around in the pages for the USB mode; it took me awhile to find it, but it's there).
While in USB mode, the Extreme shows up as a disk drive on the PC, and you can then copy the .pcg file to the Extreme and load it. It's an incredibly simple process once you know how the hell to do it. The programs load over the E bank.
Maybe tomorrow I'll spend a couple of hours going through the manuals to figure out how to get those programs written to the internal memory so they're still there after I reboot the keyboard.
