Delgados Break Up
Monday, April 11, 2005 at 6:02PM This sucks. The Delgados, Scotland's answer to Rilo Kiley, have broken up. There's a message posted a message on their site:
The four friends will continue to run their record label Chemikal Underground in this, its 10th Anniversary year, with releases scheduled for Malcolm Middleton, Mother & The Addicts and Arab Strap. They are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported The Delgados over the course of their career.
We would especially like to thank all of our fans for your wonderful support. Don't be too upset everyone...get a massive carry out, turn the stereo up and play your albums at full volume.
Their last album, Universal Audio, had a few highlights, including "Everybody Come Down," "Come Undone," and "Sink or Swim." But a true standout is their Peel session cover of ELO's "Mister Blue Sky," from the All You Need is Hate single. Chromewaves.net has the MP3 this week.
