MTV Still Sucks

1 Comment MTV/VH1 took their suckitude to a whole new level with their Live 8 coverage today. The event included numerous simultaneous concerts taking place all over the world, and these bozos broadcast the exact same feed on their channels. They cut away halfway through Green Day covering Queen to run about a million commercials for their crap reality shows, and showed at least 15 minutes of Jay-Z and Linkin Park while short shrifting the great London lineup and barely acknowledging some of the rock legends that took part.
I've aged out of the demographic for MTV and matured out of the demographic for VH1, but it wasn't cool to keep hearing the MTV talking heads talk about how "most of you weren't even born for Live Aid."
The Live 8 shows in their entirety were broadcast on the Web (apparently AOL did a good job with the streaming), but you shouldn't have to resort to watching an event like this on the Web to see what you want to see. All these channels, and we're still served up a load of pabulum the way that Viacom wants us to consume it.
Plus Rachel Perry is really annoying. She needs to go.

Total agree. They would interrupt Stevie Wonder so we could hear some VJ talk? I don't think so! Just show the damn show. We don't care about all the people partying or what Sway or Damien thinks about the show. Just shut up! And while you're at it, Give some damn money to the starving africans!
