Off to MAX 2006
Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 2:44PM Three coworkers and I are lucky enough to attend Adobe's MAX 2006 conference. This will be my second MAX. Last year was great; I picked up a lot of ColdFusion tips and got enough of a Flex preview to get me really excited about the product.
This year should be interesting as well. For one, it's at The Venetian in Vegas with Wednesday's special event at the Palms. I'm going to see The Beatles' LOVE Cirque du Soleil show, but only because I love The Beatles; Cirque is impressive, but it's still always struck me as high-falutin' and slightly creepy.
I expect at the keynote to hear a lot more about Apollo, Adobe's upcoming desktop-Web hybrid platform that has the kids all excited. As far as the sessions go, I'm taking a lot of Flex sessions, even though I haven't had a chance to work with it yet, and whatever advanced ColdFusion sessions I can - there aren't quite as many as I would have hoped. I've also thrown in some CSS sessions, as you can never have too much of that.
At last year's MAX, the impending Adobe-Macromedia merger cast a large shadow. Since this is the first conference since the merger, it will be interesting to see how it is received. Word is that it will be the best-attended MAX yet. I'm just hoping it's as worthwhile as last year's! (Plus, Vegas.)
